As persuaders they know how and when to praise their employees. They see their employees as a vital asset and if they can make their employees happy, they will improve production and earn a loyal following. Simply put, they put the needs of their followers above their own.

Leaders are Patient

Success comes through a great deal of trial and error. Failures help them learn important lessons. Leaders don't fear failure as do most people.

Leaders Build Strong Relationships

No matter what business they are in, a leader establishes relationships with people who can add to his strengths. He needs to rely on those men and women who have talents that he has no time to develop. He establishes good relationships with his lawyer, accountant, suppliers and, of course, his customers. Leaders are personable and friendly. They have the ability to make their employees catch their vision. They run a smooth operation because of their ability to handle others the right way.

Whether in the corporate world or in the confines of the family unit, these same qualities apply. The true mark of a real leader is in how he puts those qualities to use. The result is inevitable. Success is assured, but make no mistake, the leader does not horde the praise lavished on him. He is also quick to give due diligence to those who have helped him along the way - a quality that differentiates a leader from a great leader.
